As many of our readers would have noticed, Lake News has been in recess over the summer holiday period.

After one full year of publication, the summer period was a time for review of the services and types of articles that were published on these pages.

Most information the reader sees on the internet is duplicated, that is the same story will appear in more than one location. Often it is a race between media outlets and other organisations to see who can first publish word for word the latest media release.

Publishing the same news stories as other news outlets is not the ideal that Lake News wishes to achieve.

Lake News has decided to publish original stories only. Articles that appear in these pages from this date onwards will be original stories, written mostly by the editor.

The publisher of Lake News welcomes letters to the editor, as well as stories, articles, event notices and news releases from community groups, not for profit organisations and entertainers.

If you are a local business, we will accept your article too, but your article should be about something new, for example new staff, a new product, or moving to a new building.
