South East Coast basketball semi-final night produced everything from excitement to drama and most importantly an overall high standard of play.

Results from the first week of semi final games in the South East Coast Basketball League played in Mount Gambier on Wednesday 25 August 2010:
The winter season SECBL finals series begins on Wednesday at the Bern Bruning Stadium. The Women’s first semi-final at 7:15 pm on Court 1 will be played between Panthers and Bulldogs, followed by the Men’s between Panthers and Cougars at 8:30 pm. It will be “moth balls” for the losers of these two contests.
Mount Gambier Basketball has released the program for the first week of semi finals following the completion of the winter competition for 2010. Semi finals for the SECBL Men and Women will be played on Wednesday 25 August 2010, with other grades being played on the Tuesday and Wednesday.

Last Wednesday Bulldogs Men continued their march towards the Winter Flag with a big win over cellar dweller Cats, 97-58. Simon Berkefeld firmed as one of the favourites for the season MVP with a 43 point haul for Bulldogs. Two of Mount Gambier’s best junior basketballers, Rachael Hines and Brad Rathjen, are playing very well in the SAPSASA Basketball National Championships being played in Darwin this week.
