Following a relatively dry November, the rains finally came only to force the cancellation of all matches in Round 3 of the Mount Gambier & District Cricket Association’s XXXX Gold Barber Shield last Saturday.
Three of Mount Gambier’s very talented Under 13 basketballers, Rachael Hines, Brad Rathjen and Brad Close enjoyed experiences of a lifetime at the 2009 Great River Murray Basketball Jamboree held in Albury over four days, from 21 to 24 November 2009.
Fifteen of Mount Gambier’s talented junior basketballers will represent S.A. Country in January 2010.

Despite the downturn in the economic climate Stand Like Stone continues to give grants to charitable projects in the Limestone Coast. Four community groups will be sharing $2,500 from Stand Like Stone’s seventh round of grants.
Subject to suitable weather conditions, the Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) will undertake a prescribed burn in Canunda National Park (located 12 kms from Millicent) on Wednesday 25 November 2009.

Mount Gambier welcomed the start of the 2009 Christmas season with the traditional Christmas Parade winding its way down Commercial Street on Saturday morning. Over 60 bands, schools and community groups combined to show Mount Gambier residents how diverse their community really is.
