Advance notice has this afternoon been given that all of South Australia will be under Total Fire Bans tomorrow due to forecast ongoing hot temperatures and strong winds. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning later in the day in the west of the State.
In view of the extreme fire risk and in the interest of public safety, the Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) is closing all national parks and reserves in South Australia from midnight Sunday 10 January to midnight Monday 11 January 2010.
Fire bans have been lifted in the Upper South East and Lower South East Fire Ban Districts following the easing of extreme weather conditions of the past few days.
