Students from eighteen secondary schools from around South Australia converged on the Adelaide Showgrounds for the annual Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge earlier this month.

Competing for the first time, Tenison Woods College was represented by four hospitality students, Georgina Guess, Samantha Minion, Lucy Kosch and Samantha Galpin. Together with their teacher, Shirley Rhodes, they travelled to Adelaide to compete in the Culinary Challenge.

Students from Reidy Park Primary School are doing their bit to recycle and help protect the environment. Food waste from school lunches and the canteen is now deposited in new compost bins provided by the City Council.

Bronwyn Phillips of Reidy Park Primary School said today "...this is a whole of school effort with collection bins being provided in every classroom and school monitors responsible for regularly emptying the bins. It's great that our school now has the opportunity to recycle our food scraps and use the compost on our school gardens and community garden".
