In an announcement to the Australian Stock Exchange today, the Board of Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company Holdings Limited (WCB) advised that it has received a proposal from a third party that has expressed an interest in the possible acquisition of WCB.

In a move that is sure to be popular with Mount Gambier's Monday to Friday working population,  the National Australia Bank will be opening its doors for Saturday morning trading commencing 31 October 2009.

Mrs Tanya Coxon, Branch Manager at NAB Mount Gambier, said in response to customer feedback the branch will offer more flexible banking hours, opening on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

Panax drilling at Penola delayed again E-mail

Panax Geothermal announced today that they will not be able to commence drilling at their Penola site until mid December 2009, three months later than originally planned.

The drilling plant that Panax plans to use for the project is unlikely to be released from its current drilling site until then, due to difficult drilling conditions.

A flying 'corporate box' landed in Broken Hill on Friday, enabling a select group of 'high flyers' from the State's Limestone Coast to promote their region and showcase their businesses to the Silver City.

The passengers were part of a delegation organised by the Mount Gambier-based de Bruin Air to help boost regional development by facilitating unique networking opportunities.
