Advance notice has this afternoon been given that all of South Australia will be under Total Fire Bans tomorrow due to forecast ongoing hot temperatures and strong winds. There is a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning later in the day in the west of the State.

Ten Total Fire Ban districts will have forecasts of Catastrophic, these are: Eastern Eyre Peninsula, Lower Eyre Peninsula, West Coast, Mid North, Mount Lofty Ranges, Yorke Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, Murraylands, Upper South East and Lower South East.

Extreme fire danger is forecast for the Flinders, Riverland and Adelaide Metropolitan districts, while the fire danger will be Severe in the North East and North West Pastoral areas.

All fire agencies will be at maximum preparedness and CFS fire fighting aircraft will be on standby. The Department for Environment and Heritage (DEH) will close parks and reserves in Catastrophic forecast areas.

In view of tomorrow's forecast conditions, the CFS recommends that all South Australians maintain awareness of your local situation at all times and tune into an emergency radio broadcaster such as ABC or FIVEaa on a battery powered radio. The CFS urges all South Australians to implement their Bushfire Survival Plans and relocate early to a safer place if not adequately prepared for bushfire. South Australians who live, work, travel or who are holidaying in bushfire prone areas are urged to postpone non-essential travel through these areas.

The CFS has released a preliminary list of places across South Australia that can be considered safer places of refuge and these have been posted on this website. CFS reminds you that leaving early to travel to a safer place is the best and safest option."
