Fifteen of Mount Gambier's talented junior basketballers will represent S.A. Country in January 2010. Two junior basketballers, Danika Jolley and Sam Stafford, will make their debut at state level when they travel to Albury to compete in the 2010 Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup This duo will be joined by State representative Sam Loughhead, Emily Stafford and newcomer Brianna Falland in the Under 16 Girls teams. Matt Parslow, Matt Markiewicz and Jackson Trappett have been named in the Under 16 Boys teams to compete in Albury. Jak Ryan has had his commitment and hard work rewarded by gaining state selection for the first time in the Under 18 Men's squad for Albury while Abby Loughhead and Maddi Wilson are expected to have key roles in the Under 18 Women's teams. Four Under 15 Lakers Girls, Morgan Amy, Brianna Walters, Georgia Green and Malinda Markiewicz will lead the SA Country team at the 2010 Pacific Coast Slam to be played at Port Macquarie in January. All players are currently working on home programs before their only Training sessions over the weekend of 12 & 13 December 2009. SA Country will have four teams, Under 15 and 17 Boys and Girls, competing in the Pacific Slam in Port Macquarie from 13 to 21 January 2010. Mount Gambier's Andrew Lee and Trevor Semmens are members of the coaching contingent for Albury. One hundred and twenty Under 14, 16 and 18 Boys and Girls along with Coaches, Referees and Managers will travel to Albury for the 23rd Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup to be conducted from 16 to 23 January 2010. |
