Three of Mount Gambier's very talented Under 13 basketballers, Rachael Hines, Brad Rathjen and Brad Close enjoyed experiences of a lifetime at the 2009 Great River Murray Basketball Jamboree held in Albury over four days, from 21 to 24 November 2009.

The Jamboree involved basketball clinics in fundamentals, competitive drills and games on the court as well as social activities off the court. The 200 plus players from Country Victoria, NSW, SA Country and New Zealand were placed in teams with coaches and managers and stayed as units for the four days.

Social events were also organized for the parents attending the Jamboree.

The Coaches of the Mount Gambier players were impressed by their skills and dedication. They considered all three to be in the top bracket of the Jamboree attendees.
