The Mount Gambier and District Cricket Association has announced the introduction of competition between the Mount Gambier & District Cricket Association and the Glenelg District Cricket Club.

Following many months of negotiation, the two bodies will officially commence competition this weekend for the "Waterside Cup" to be played annually between the MGDCA and the GDCC.

The focus of the annual match will be to provide strong competitive opportunities for MGDCA players, and to build on the current direct relationship between the MGDCA and the GDCC through the SACA Grade Club/Country Association affiliation program.

The Waterside Cup matches will also provide the GDCC and SACA with direct access and exposure to MGDCA players with the potential to progress to the SACA Grade competition and beyond.

The Mount Gambier team is: George Kidman (c), Trent Badman, Gavin Coon, Bryon Cleaver, Lachlan Jones, Craig Lock, Michael McGurk, Nathan Smith, David Somerfield, Bray Stephenson, Dion Stratford and Marcus Von Duve.
