Exposure to southern ocean swells and strong prevailing winds will make Robe, South Australia, the perfect setting for this year's Australian Kitesurf Nationals to be held from 21 to 25 October 2009.

Anthony Moore, organiser of the event, said that judges will be looking for aerials, speed, power and style over five days of spectator-friendly action.

Riders will also be competing in the Big Air Expression Session, Downwinder Race and Surf Expression Session. Riders will be going all out during these events with big airs and technical manoeuvres along with hair-raising speed in the Downwinder Race.

"Riders are expected to put on a spectacular show for people watching on the beach. I'm in awe of the moves these riders pull off. You will see riders boosting 20 feet plus airs during the Big Air Expression Session", Mr Moore explained.

It will be the first time Robe has hosted the event which promises to bring Australia's finest to compete in one of the world's fastest growing sports. Robe's Long Beach is spectator friendly with plenty of room to watch the action along with great places to stay and nice places to eat.

Mr Moore expects the ideal setting and promise of thrilling competition will generate interest from Australia's best kitesurfers with the possibility of some international kitesurfers competing.
