While the rains tumbled down outside, Tennis Seniors worked up a sweat playing tennis indoors at their August event.

Tennis seniors played their August event inside the Active8 sports centre.

Fay White, from Tennis Seniors, says that Mount Gambier is very lucky to have this facility which is the envy of other towns. It means that we are able to play tennis right through the winter months.

Winners of the August event were:

• Lady No. 1 - Wendy McDonald
• Lady No. 2 - Maud Scanlon
• Man No. 1 - Jack Tanian
• Man No. 2 - Tut Agnew

As a result of some players attending the Masters Games at Mildura, the next local event will be held at Naracoorte on 20 September 2009, weather permitting.
